What is APA, where can I get APA help, and where can I find information about APA style and citation formatting?

Answer

The APA style was created by the American Psychological Association. It is a set of rules for publications, including research papers.

Have questions about citation?

The Academic Writer is an online tool created by the APA to help people learn, reference and write using the APA Style Format. This database has a wealth of knowledge on APA style, and includes:

  • a Learning Centre with quick guides, tutorials, sample references and sample papers.
  • a Reference Centre with tools to help you build and save references.
  • Writing Centre, which is a cloud based word processor, which will automatically draft your papers using the APA style guide.

The Library LibGuides provide APA and Academic Integrity resources.

  • You can also talk to a Library Liaison. Visit in person at the 2nd floor library public service desk, or send an email to infodesk@confederationcollege.ca.

Contact the Writing Centre at Confederation College for in-person or virtual assistance, as well.

Finally, askON Live Chat Service is a real-time chat that allows you to connect to research and information library services from across Ontario.
