Can I borrow a reference book?

Answer

Reference materials can be found in the open-shelf stacks area of the 2nd floor library, and can be identified by a red "REF" sticker on the material.

Reference materials include:

  • encyclopedias
  • indexes
  • handbooks
  • manuals
  • textbooks (limited)

A reference book is not the same as the Reserve Collection.

Reference materials are meant for in-library use only, however special permission can be obtained from the library.

For approval to use a reference material outside the library, you can send an email, call (807) 475-6219, or visit the library in person.
